Artist Pamela Irving has lived in Caulfield South for 26 years. Pamela runs her own gallery, in Bentleigh (68 Patterson Road), and spends much of her time in the City of Glen Eira. She lives at the Elsternwick end of Caulfield South, near Kooyong Road. “It’s a wonderful location, everything I need seems to be close by,” she says.

Where do you go for a great cup of coffee?

I’m not a big coffee drinker but I love cakes, and I do sometimes go for cake and coffee. Aviv Cakes in Glen Huntly Road is my absolute favourite cake shop. It’s a family favorite for bagels on a Sunday morning and all our birthday cakes come from there.

To chill out?

I walk my dog each day. That’s my chill-out time. Time to think about my day ahead and walking clarifies my ideas. I either go to Princes Park or Victory Park in Patterson Road, Bentleigh.

For a big night out?

A big night out for me is pretty quiet these days. I love to see movies, so a movie at the Classic or Brighton Bay is a big night out.

For a sneaky takeaway?

Kotaraya in Elsternwick is great for Asian takeaway if I don’t have time to cook.

For something new to read?

I like going to Syber’s in Glen Huntly Road. It’s a second-hand book shop. The owner is always so helpful and cheerful. It’s a good place to get out-of-print stuff, reference books and generally just to have a good browse.

For a pick-me-up when you’re feeling blue?

A walk along the St Kilda beach foreshore is always a pick-me-up.
