Fashionology: perfect sandals, a comfy kind of cool

Flat and flimsy, slab-soled or slide-style, the right sandal might lack the leg-lengthening illusion of heels, but its comfy kind of cool more than compensates.

SANDALS 101

  • Perfect fit so toes are never forced  to hook and hold on
  • Pale and mid-toned leather or metallic a close sandal-to-skin-tone blend won’t optically chop the leg
  • Darker tones work with maxi hemlines and crop pants which will help balance the visual weight of a dark sandal
  • Slab soles to boost height without sacrificing comfort

Felicity Cooney’s handmade luxe leather tan tones are a chic complement for summer complexions in shorts and togs. Darker tones than tan can optically chop bare legs at the ankle so are best left to darker complexions.
