Where do you go for a great cup of coffee?
Peaberrys Cafe because they also have a great selection of little cakes, a necessary accompaniment to a good coffee! I also buy beans there to use at home.
For a sneaky takeaway?
Casa Lee for Chinese food – Mr Lee makes awesome spicy chicken wings. Krishna for fantastic Indian, and for pizza you can’t beat Hole In One. I love their Albatross gourmet pizza – and no, it doesn’t actually have an albatross on it. It’s a continuation of the golfing theme. It’s got prawns, chicken and chorizo. Yum!
For some me time?
Jogging, along Cheltenham Road with its lovely trees.
For a bargain?
I love a good op shop, especially for books. Cheltenham Village is wonderful as it has three op shops to explore. I’ll often make my way through all three in one excursion.
For a good bottle of wine?
Bottlemart on Weatherall Road. It’s a really small store, but the people there are always friendly. And they also have a good selection of Asian beers – a must-have.
To geek out?
I’m a HUGE Doctor Who fan, so I regularly visit the ABC Shop in Southland. I’ve spent way too much money there.
To buy clothes?
Tarocash in Southland. My wife takes me there regularly. I have no sense of style, so it’s safer to let her choose my clothes.
To spend time with the kids?
Cheltenham Recreation Reserve. My six-year-old daughter loves the playground roundabout.
