Tokyo Deli and Ramen Monk

THE VIBE

Say kon’nichiwa to this Japanese eatery combined with a small specialty grocery store. You can’t mistake the smell of miso.

THE DECOR

Modern and light-filled with lots of greenery.

THE CROWD

Local business folk come by for sushi, and a younger, hip crowd likes the Elsternwick location.

THE FOOD

We know eating ramen is serious business. It’s the type of food people queue for, no matter the weather – and this place serves up a mean shio ramen.

It includes home-made noodles, egg, chicken chashu, seasonal greens and black fungus in the restaurant’s original chicken-based soup. It’s maximum deliciousness in a bowl. If you’re keen for a side dish, the takoyaki are to die for.

THE VERDICT

Do yourself a favour and eat here. It will do your body a world of good.
