After beginning as a pop-up at Prahran Market three months ago, Christy’s permanent new sweet spot is set to take on the big guns of the frozen dessert game when it opens its doors on August 24.
- 1a Peel Street, Windsor
- Opens August 24
Since appearing on MasterChef in 2014, Christy has returned each year to push the contestants to their creative limits. In her most recent appearance, she asked contestants to recreate her ice-cream float dessert.
Now it’s Christy’s turn to deliver the goods. At Glacé, she will serve artisanal ice creams and sorbets that can be enjoyed in a waffle cone or cup, or in half-litre takeaway tubs.
The menu includes dark chocolate ice cream, strawberry passion fruit sorbet and coconut sorbet with coconut jam, as well as more complex flavours such as Boozy Date, which is sticky date pudding soaked in rum with vanilla ice cream and salted butterscotch.
Spice up your life with the Ginger Spice, a mixture of vanilla ice cream, salted butterscotch and gingerbread crumble, or get your buzz on with the Coffee Caramel, which combines caramel milk chocolate ice cream with Kahlua and orange cinnamon crumble.
Those who are still on the matcha train might like to try Matcha Adzuki, which features green tea ice cream with a sweet red bean paste.
When you pop into Glacé, make sure you also take a gander at the decadent ice-cream eclairs, ice-cream macarons and Christy’s famous push pops, which combine cake sponge and layers of ice cream.
If you prefer a hot drink with your chilled desserts, there will also be Proud Mary coffee.
Christy has previously worked at venues such as Om Nom and the Langham. Glacé represents a new chapter for her, so make sure you check out her decadent desserts – it’s bound to be delicious.
