THE VIBE

Upbeat blues music, the sweet smell of coffee beans and a warm “ciao” from the staff greet every visitor as they walk through the door.

THE DECOR

It’s a white tablecloth and white napkin kind of place, with dark floorboards and leather seats. There are private rooms upstairs.

THE CROWD

Locals greet each other on the way through and chat comfortably with the staff.

THE FOOD

I ordered the tagliolini beef ragu with peas and ricotta from the specials menu, and I’m pretty sure my eyes widened as I tasted the first forkful. Forget depth of flavour – this dish had another dimension to it, striking a balance between rich and hearty, fresh and delicate. I was tempted to knock on the kitchen door and ask for the recipe.

THE VERDICT
