If you’re after the royal burger treatment in Melbourne, then look no further.

Aiming to stand out from the ever-increasing local burger joint crowd, the American diner-style chain Royal Stacks is launching on Collins Street on January 18.

The city location will be closely followed by one on Sydney Road in Brunswick.

On top of “stacked” burgers, diners can expect a range of desserts, shakes and local wines and beers on the menu.

The modern-minded venues promise locally-sourced ingredients, frozen custard machines and state-of-the-art fit-outs.

Choose from the single stack, a combination of Australian pasture-fed beef patty, tomato, butter lettuce, American cheddar, special burger sauce and pickles, or multiply the fun with the double stack.

Or why not go all out with the Prince Harry, which includes horseradish, shallot and gherkin mayo sauce, or The King, featuring hand-made macaroni and cheese croquettes.

The swiss cheese and truffle mayo-adorned Miss Elizabeth, the spicy Saint, the deviously decadent Bacon Bacon or the tasty vegetarian option Queen Bee, complete with a chickpea patty and all the trimmings, are too hard to choose between.

The brains behind the operation, successful restaurateur Dani Zeini, prides himself on combining Australia’s love for fun and creative dining with local produce.

The business uses beef that is completely free from GMO, hormones and antibiotics, sourcing produce from the likes of Ross Iaconis (VIC Meats) and gelato from Mark Mariotti (St Kilda-based 7 Apples).

“Fast food is a bit of a guilty pleasure for the occasional treat day. At Royal Stacks we’re taking that guilt away and focusing on quality ingredients. Fun dining is something that has worked so well with other venues, which we’re expanding on here,” Dani says.
