Poetry in Film Festival Screening Awards Night

Melbourne’s Palace Como provided an intimate scene for this year’s Poetry in Film Festival. With their first screening, Jackson Raine, Dana Newell and Mikael Hattingh all walked away winners while David Vincent Smith claimed both the Best Direction and Audience Award. Wine and Art Auction Stables Art Program

The Prahran Angels, a group of volunteer women from the Prahran Mission, raised vital funds at a Wine & Art Auction last month. Celebrating with a cocktail party, the event raised awareness for the Mission’s Stables Art mental health rehabilitation program. www.prahranmission.org.au

Epworth Freemasons’ Maternity Hospital celebrated its 20th birthday last month with a cocktail party in the Dallas Brooks Centre. Guests included a group of VIP mothers, their obstetricians and several staff members from 1991 – many of whom are still working there. www.epworth.org.au

Geoffrey Rush last month donated to the Arts Centre’s already sterling Performing Arts Collection with pieces from his years on the stage. Held in the Smorgon Family Plaza, the collection now comprises more than 450,000 items from circus, dance, opera and theatrical performances. www.theartscentre.com.au
