Summer has arrived and with it, all those amazing Instagram pics of your friends in their stunning swim and resort wear.

Gone are the days of throwing a towel around your waist as you hobble along the hot sand, in 2016/17 it’s all about flowing cover-ups in luxe fabrics that will work from the beach to the bar.

We’ve found some of our favourite Aussie resort collections to get you looking insta-stylish all summer long.

1. Life with Bird

The Melbourne label’s Resort16 collection is in a mostly neutral palette with one bright blue floral print thrown in for good measure.

Think voluminous dresses in textured fabrics, asymmetrical tops and oh-so-hot patterned shorts.

2. Camilla

The queen of the beautifully bright cover-up does disappoint with her summer range.

Patterned kaftans in jewel tones rule, along with a few monochrome pieces that have a bit of leopard snuck in for good measure.

3. Sass and Bide

Black, white, baby blue and gold are where it’s at for the cult label.

Think light-weight dresses with shoe-string straps and uneven hemlines, wide-leg silk pants and of course the summer staple – denim shorts.

4. Zimmermann

Pretty, floral and delightfully frilly is what you’ll find in Zimmermann’s Resort Swim 17 collection.

Pale pink florals are shown in a playsuit, prairie-style dress and overalls, while white lace makes an appearance in dresses and tops.

5. Chalice

The Western Australian brand brings cool, chic pieces to your resort wardrobe.

Think a-line shapes in block colours and sheer fabric dresses that can be cinched at the waist.

Their folksy maxi dresses sell out almost instantly and are beloved by the likes of Miley Cyrus and Margot Robbie.
