Calling all Call of Duty addicts, zombie freaks, and amateur sleuths – the Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Zombies Escape Room is in Melbourne for a limited time and it’s probably going to blow your mind.

If you have gamers for housemates you’re probably well aware of this game as your lounge room is likely occupied with them staring zombie-like at the screen and pummelling a console at all hours of the day. Yes, it’s the world’s most popular video game franchise, Call of Duty, and in the IRL version participants must complete a range of challenges and brainteasers to escape.

The popularity of immersive, experiential games is taking off across the globe, and The Weekly Review crew have been known to pit their wits against some interesting challenges.

“The Black Ops Zombies mode is a huge fan favourite and participants can expect an authentic Black Ops III Zombies experience unlike anything they have had before. The room is so convincing, players won’t even realise they are in a 40 foot [12.1-metre] shipping container.”

Not one for the faint-hearted, the Australian exclusive will be running from October 30 to November 6 at Federation Square.

“We have specifically designed this experience to be based on the the Zombie mode narrative Shadows of Evil,” Tamasein says. “Celebrating the rich characters that Treyarch are so well known for, and working with the best possible puzzles from the great team at Escape Room Melbourne, we have developed an intense, dynamic experience unlike any other.”
