Just when you thought Melbourne’s love affair with the humble burger couldn’t reach any greater heights, the legends at Welcome To Thornbury step up to the plate.
The inner-north’s food truck heaven has created a Melbourne burger event to blow the minds and Instagram accounts of foodies across the city.
The Melbourne Burger Invitational line-up, a veritable burger extravaganza, has invited six of Melbourne’s best burger producers to the one location. And the line-up is an absolute doozy.
Try these on for size:
Melbourne Burger Invitational details:
- Tickets are $33 and include the choice of one burger and a pint of beer.
- The event will take place March 8-9.
- Vendors will have their signature burgers, and there will be a huge range of beers, ciders and cocktails on tap.
- For information, visit welcometothornbury.com or the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival website.
‘Scuse us. We need to sit down while we digest that. Here’s a pic of an Easey’s extravaganza to keep you occupied…
Truly the only negative thing about this event will be the moment you realise you can’t possibly eat all the burgers in one sitting.
The good news is that the event, part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, runs for two days so you can always go back for seconds. And by seconds we mean fourths and fifths.
The Welcome To Thornbury team describe the event as: “The best line-up of burger vendors in one place Australia has ever seen.”
Welcome To Thornbury co-owner Daragh Kan says Melbourne has “one of the best burger cultures in the world”.
“We wanted to bring together some of its best operators to showcase a movement Melbourne can be really proud of.
“Holding the Burger Invitational at Welcome To Thornbury not only allows us to invite down a bunch of our favourite burger makers, but also let’s people enjoy a burger in a great outdoor environment.”
Here’s a reminder of what these burger barons are capable of:
