If Tuesday night’s launch party is anything to go by, Ascot Vale’s Motorhome Majestic is going to be very, very popular.

The Weekly Review’s Daniel Paproth was on hand last night to check out the latest version of “meals on wheels”, brought to you by the same people who delivered the CBD’s Grand Trailer Park Taverna and Werribee’s Truck Stop Deluxe.

Motorhome Majestic features converted Jayco caravans and, yes, motorhomes fitted out with booths and benches to take diners on the ride of a lifetime.

At 6pm Tuesday evening the doors were thrown open to invitees – but don’t worry, as of Wednesday morning it was fully open to the public – and by 6:30pm waiters and waitresses couldn’t bring out the burgers quick enough.

Food bloggers, suits, models, photographers and more mingled, clinking glasses containing bacon salted caramel and Kinder Surprise cocktails as tunes pumped in the background.

Creator and owner Josh Lefers and his team have done a great job – the space is large, giving patrons plenty of room to eat and drink comfortably, whether it’s inside a converted motorhome, on a luxury chair or on a table out in the beer garden.

Lefers says there are a few surprises alongside the crowd-pleasing burgers.

“We’re always looking to modernise and innovate around casual dining and with Motorhome Majestic we’re placing a big focus on ‘premium fun’ drinks as well as serving up a strong array of beers,” he says.

“This will be one of the few places where people can order a bottle of wine or a six-pack of beers to take away with their burger and fries.”

There’re some newcomers to the menu,  like the addition of juicy pork ribs and yummy chicken wings, as well as a dessert station with ice-cream and decadent toppings to enjoy in a cup or with waffles or doughnuts.

Burger guru Dani Zeini, of Grand Trailer Park Taverna and Royal Stacks fame, has designed the new venue’s menu, but kept to the principle of locally sourced ingredients free of additives and hormones.

Marcus Mooney, former general manager the Melbourne Pub Group, joins Josh as general manager of the Motorhome Majestic, alongside Jasmin Lefers as venue manager.
