Caterina Di Biase \ Heading Out
One of the most energetic hairdressers around, Caterina is not one to shy away from a look that stands out in a crowd. Her hair style incorporates beautiful accessories, inspired by a trip to Beijing, placed on a stunningly exaggerated look.
The second look, inspired by Lady Gaga on the cover of American Vogue, completely transformed the subtle bob with a pastel-pink colour – tipped by Caterina to be a big trend.
Freda Rossidis \ CAST Salons
One of the only Australian stylists to take part in New York Fashion Week every year, Freda takes huge inspiration from fashion shows to not only create striking hair styles but to share and inspire her team to think creatively.
Originality certainly wasn’t lacking in Freda’s look inspired by ’80s modern punk and incorporating an oversized striking yellow mohawk.
Belinda Keeley \ Chumba Concept Salon
Inspired by her salon’s Golden Rose Collection, Belinda uses techniques including twisting and different root colour blends to give the hair lots of light and shadow. Belinda believes strongly in creating timeless hair styles that you can look back on in 20 years and still be proud.
Elizabeth Tedesco \ True Colours
Elizabeth describes her inspiration as coming from within by using the tools given to her to create inspired looks that keep her passionate about her craft.
Elizabeth’s creative direction incorporates classic shapes, sewn together to create elegance with a modern nuance. Both looks are extremely wearable.
Hilda Santalucia \ Biba
Staying true to her salon’s motto – Learning is not about the destination, it’s about the journey – Hilda took guests on a journey through her career experiences, all of which have empowered her to become the stylist she is today.
Showcasing two very strong cuts, Hilda labelled her looks ‘the Uma Thurman come Lily Allen’ which included super straight bobs with lots of shine. The violet overtone and biscuit blonde colour made the subtle but eccentric looks pop on stage.
Malisa Masci \ Masci Hair & Spa
Drawing on the “punk rock” theme of the ’80s, Malisa creates a vibrant look that incorporates a pastel trend. A key focus for the look was combining dark re-growth work with pre-lightened ends in a range of pop colours.
Michelle Anthony \ John Anthony Hair Designers in Hair
A strong, edgy look, Michelle’s “animalistic” style has plenty of colour, texture and daring shapes. Inspired by the recent tribal collection by Sarah Burton (of Alexander McQueen), Michelle’s styles are an exciting contrast between whimsical, feminine and exotic.
Pina Torcasio \ Rokk Ebony
Pina’s inspiration for the strong, “afro” style is drawn from extensive research in international trends and fashion photography. Pina’s carefree yet glamorous look was created with simplicity in mind, using chopsticks for colour application and tongs for styling, resulting in tight curls and plenty of volume.
Tracey Colebrook \ Shibui
Tracey’s philosophy that hair should be an accessory to fashion is evident in her “preppy” and feminine hair styles.
Wendy Marziano \ Raw Element
Inspired by the hottest hair-styling tool, the KEVIN.MURPHY Wave.Clip, Wendy demonstrates the revolutionary technique she created to help achieve exceptional tone and colour. The contrast of strong vibrant shades with a natural wave gave the hair a dramatic yet wearable catwalk style.
